Daryl Rose Clifton, 58, of Warrington, is accused of impersonating various authorities as he accosted children, parents, and others visiting the Doctor Adams Community Park located at 2235 Oxford Drive, police said.

He was arrested and charged with Impersonating a Public Servant on Friday, Oct. 4, according to court documents. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18.

Clifton has had some run-ins with police in the past, according to court records. He has a Simple Assault charge from Friday, May 18, 2012 along with charges related to driving an unregistered vehicle with a revoked license on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 and again on Monday, August 22, 2022. He also faced Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property charges on Monday, Sept. 16, 1996.

Police reported that they had been called to the park four times from Sunday, Aug. 11 to Monday, Sept. 16 as residents who attempted to use the park reported that Clifton — posing as a police officer, security guard, or township representative — chased them away.

On several occasions, residents reported that Clifton presented a badge as he declared he was an official, police said. Police clarified that Clifton is not a security officer and doesn't work for Warrington Township.
